About Us
Camp History
Juniper Mountain Outfitters is a third generation, family-owned and operated business that has been conducting guided horseback trail rides and hunting trips in the State of Idaho since 1986. The business began with mountain lion and deer hunting on Juniper Mountain and surrounding areas in southwestern Idaho (hence the name) and has expanded its licensed operating area to include portions of Units 25 & 33 in the West/Central mountains of Idaho.
About Our Founders
"We pride ourselves on providing a quality experience whether it be a guided hunting trip, weekend family getaway or kids getting on a horse for the first time at our much-loved summer horse camp. At the end of the day, we are here to create memories that will stand the test of time."

About Our Staff
Paul Meholchick
I’m Paul Meholchick, owner/operator of Juniper Mountain Outfitters. I grew up with a passion for hunting, horses, and the great outdoors. After graduating from College of Idaho in 1992 with a degree in history I spent 7 years guiding under my father before taking over the reins of the business in 1996. Since then, we’ve expanded our horseback trail rides and the summer horse camp program. I can honestly say that I wake up every day enjoying what I do and am grateful for the long-lasting friendships that I have made with many of our clients. With that being said, I can assure you that my staff and I will do our best to make your outdoor experience, whether it’s on a horse or on a hunt, truly exceptional.
Lisa Meholchick
Wife, secretary, and keeper of the books. Basically, I’m the one that keeps things running smoothly while my husband is out pretending that he has a “real” job.
Madison Meholchick
Hi, my name is Madison Meholchick, a full-time staff member at Juniper Mountain Outfitters. My duties include making camp and/or your trail ride a safe, memorable experience and teaching you how to properly tack & care for the horses. I am a licensed guide with the state of Idaho, First Aid and CPR certified. I am currently receiving my AAS majoring in Animal Veterinary Science. In the future, I plan to attend one of our state universities to achieve my bachelor’s degree in science and continue on to Veterinary School. One interesting fact about me is that I am one of three children whose birthday is in December and our birthdays are nine days apart (9th, 18th, and 27th). Some hobbies of mine include playing soccer, visiting hot springs, and spending time with my dog Dozer. My parents have owned Juniper Mountain Outfitters since 1996 and I’ve been lucky enough to spend every summer here in Stolle Meadows doing what I love. I’ve made many lifetime memories and hope you can make some of your own with us!
Sydney West
Hi, my name is Sydney West, a full-time staff member with Juniper Mountain Outfitters. I am a licensed guide with the state of Idaho, First-Aid and CPR certified. I take immense joy and pride to be able to safely guide you and your family on a trail ride or help your child have a fun and memorable camp experience. In the off season I am a large animal vet tech at a local veterinary clinic. I will be attending farrier school in the fall of 2023 to continue my equine education and eventually become a full-time farrier. When I am not working, I spend my time going to the gym, riding my horses, taking care of my tropical fish tank, and hanging out with my cat. I started attending JMO camps in 2007 when I was 7 years old. I continued to attend camp every summer and when I was 14 started attending camps as a counselor in training. During my weeks at camp, I began taking on new responsibilities and falling more in love with Stolle Meadows, our horses and the incredible people I have had the privilege of working alongside of. I continued this each summer until I was hired as a full-time staff member in 2017. Since then, I have worked multiple full summers and 2 hunting seasons. I treasure my time in these mountains with my fellow staff members, our incredible string of horses, and the people I get to meet while sharing my passion. I look forward to helping you and your family make great unforgettable memories with us.
Haiden Lawrence
Hi, my name is Haiden Lawrence. I am a full-time guide here at Juniper Mountain Outfitters and I am licensed with the state of Idaho. My duties include saddling horses, conducting trail rides, and ensuring a safe and pleasurable experience for you. I am currently attending college and majoring in entrepreneurship management. Some hobbies of mine include golfing, skiing, and social outings. Before working here, I was a camper for upwards of 5 years. This led me to becoming a CIT for 3 years prior to getting hired in the summer of ‘22. I look forward to seeing you this summer and showing you some amazing parts of Idaho.
Dan & Debi Henrikson
After knowing the Meholchick family for many years, we gradually began taking on a greater role in the set up and maintenance of the base camp in Stolle Meadows. This led to a position for me, “Debi” as a full-time cook during the summer and the hunting season, and a position for me, “Dan” as an all-around groundskeeper/maintenance man. There’s nothing better than waking up with a fresh cup of coffee, listening to the Sandhill cranes and breathing in the clean mountain air.
Rick & Riquel Carley
We learned about Juniper Mountain Outfitters through our grandchildren's exciting tales of horse camp. After making a trip to visit in 2013, we fell in love with the camp and the Meholchick family. We were thrilled to find that there was always wood that needed splitting and fences that needed mending. We offered to help and have been blessed to be able to participate wherever we are needed.
